Here in Australia the mass media has demonised the sun as the thing causes our skin cancer epidemic... in a rapid turn of events, it appears that not being in the sun is just as likely to cause cancer too, and many other diseases as well. Over the last few hundred years we have gone from spending most of our time outdoors to spending 90% of our time inside, away from the environment and the light that we evolved to utilise and harvest so very effectively. On average, less than 10% of the body's skin is exposed to the sun when we do actually make our way out there into the wilderness - take home message: get your gear off and soak up the rays!
