Full Stack Journey 019: Getting Inside Microsoft Azure

The Everything Feed - All Packet Pushers Pods - A podcast by Packet Pushers

Categories:

Today on the Full Stack Journey we head to the clouds–in particular, Microsoft Azure.
My guests are Dave Strebel, who works on Microsoft’s global black belt team focusing on open source software on Azure; and Sasha Rosenbaum, also an Azure global black belt who works on the infrastructure team.
Before we dive into specifics about Azure, we talk about emerging requirements for IT professionals to build competency in both software development and infrastructure operations, and how the cloud drives these requirements.
Then we look at how to get started in Azure; explore foundational services such as identity, networking, and storage; and review free and for-pay training materials.
We also look at how Azure differs from other public cloud services, debate the CLI vs. the user interface, and offer advice on how to move into more complex capabilities within the platform.
Please take a moment to give us some feedback on iTunes and let us know how we’re doing!
